Re: FYI - BOINC version 7.8.3 availability

We are looking to adopt the 7.14 client as our next "official" version of the client. We have a couple of pull requests on github that we we need to get in place first (one is already open and one has not yet been submitted).

If all goes well (thanks to some hard work by members of the BOINC community this year in getting the EPEL and debian releases moving and fixing the build issues for the Android client), we will be working with the BOINC community to release an update to all of the branded installers (Grid Republic, CharityEngine, WCG, etc) as well as the standard BOINC installers on all platforms (Windows, Mac, Linux and Android). This will mark the first time in quite a while that everything will at the same version.

My guess is that alpha testing on the 7.14 client will start in the next week or two. It will follow the process that is outlined here: https://github.com/BOINC/boinc-policy/blob/ma...Client_Release_Process.md

Nice, will there ever be GPU availability?

Re: FYI - BOINC version 7.8.3 availability

GPU crunching is possible even with the current version of the BOINC client. It is up to scientists to provide GPU version of their application and possibility of GPU crunching depends of the nature of the project - some of them could be GPU accelerated, some of the could not. WCG can do nothing about it.
