Many results stuck on "Pending Validation"

Hello,
I noticed I have 9 pages of results pending validation on all projects (mostly MCM and OET). If this is normal, please disregard as I usually don't check results status. I did notice an anomaly for some of the users on my team and myself having 0 points reported to a third party statistics site (may be a problem on their side), while others report normally. I have had 0 points for 3-4 days now, but my machines are uploading WU's as expected. I'm not sure if this is related to the pending results.

Regards,
Boatvan

EDIT: It seems that the third party site has "caught up" on my points just as I posted this. I am guessing that I am making something out of nothing at this point.

Re: Many results stuck on "Pending Validation"

Hello Boatvan,

There was a problem with some of the validators being down for nearly 24 hours after the maintenance slot on Monday, so there was a distinct drop in numbers until they were re-started and caught up again. This would certainly explain the wobble in the statistics.

As to the number of work units (WUs) you have still in pending validation (PV) status, that is probably normal. Only the techs can see details of your WUs, so I've no way of checking, but I can see that you return about 32 days of run time per day, so 9 pages doesn't seem abnormal to me. If you don't usually look at these pages, then you may be unfamiliar with how validation works, so you might want to take a look at the help pages and do a search to find out. Validation works differently for different projects, which explains why you see more WUs in PV for some projects than others. Have a look at the details for some of the WUs (by clicking on the "result name") and you will see the quorum and replication numbers, as well as what is happening to the other copies of the WU. (In the fora, we usually refer to those other contributors who are running copies of the same WU as you as "wingmen".) Usually a WU is in PV because it is waiting on wingmen.

Hope that helps!
