We had a meeting with the researchers in Australia and Brazil today. The Brazil team has finally recovered from various IT disasters and has started updating their new project web site and results data base (coming later.) The Australia team is looking for students to help with analyzing the data. We also introduced them to Dr. Carbone (of the Help Cure Muscular Dystrophy projects) because she is working with marine DNA sequences and might be able to use some of the results of this project in her latest work.

Thanks Viktors for the update. Glad to hear that the Brazil team have recovered from their IT issues (something I wasn't aware of - hope they weren't too serious) and I wish the Australian team well in their hunt for students. I'm sure a bit of 'hands on' work with real data will benefit them in their future careers. As to you introducing them to Dr Carbone - that's certainly something that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for the power of WCG and the wide network that's been able to be built up through it.

A great thing would be a link where to apply. Someone reading these posts, might be interested? |

Sorry, there is no link. He is hiring a student within the university. OK. If they search for outside, please share! (No, I'm not interested in a job, as I work in Rimac. ) ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Feb 23, 2018 1:03:45 PM] |

Quick update from the UGM research team:
----------------------------------------Wim Degrave and Torsten Thomas met in person while Torsten was visiting Brazil. They discussed the database they're creating for the enormous amount of data generated by UGM. Specifically, they're talking over the various ways to analyze the data as well as the best user interface design. Thank you to everyone who supported this project while it was active on World Community Grid. [Edit 1 times, last edit by caitilarkin at Aug 13, 2021 8:26:51 PM] |

This project ended in 2016 and there hasn't been a single meaningful update on anything related to the science data.
----------------------------------------The project website listed in the OP has remained the same. I e-mailed one or two of project scientists back in 2021 or even 2020 and got no reply. Truly frustrating. AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz [Edit 1 times, last edit by Falconet at Apr 5, 2023 6:48:08 PM] |
