Uh-oh, LM.

'bimbo' should be an acceptable word, I think
I don't know if 'Gary Hart' is in this #Metoo era, though Above all, I'm pretty proud of being able to remember his name and the incident |

@ [SG] Thomas Kleinhenn
----------------------------------------Ever since you wrote this Uh-oh, LM. I have wondered what you meant. In English/American 'bimbo' is, well, a slang word, but a rather innocent one. In my mind it means an attractive girl that you have an affair with, a sidekick, a girl who is ready to have a good time with you without obligations. Think of all the adjectives listed in another thread concerning properties that posted words should not have. Pretty sure you'll find several for your deleted word @ You English-speaking gamers: Your input will be appreciated. But, see, in today's German lesson - a 'Der Spiegel' article that dealt with the difficulties of getting doctors to work in 'Dunkeldeutschland' in general and in Hoyerswerda in particular - I stumbled over 'Bimbo', and I could understand that in German 'Bimbo' is a fairly loaded word. I haven't been able to find a precise translation. I met the expression in a passage that reported from when the authorities bussed out the contract workers from Vietnam and Mozambique of Hoyerswerda after they had been attacked in the September 17, 1991 incident. The mob was crying: 'Bimbo', 'Kanake' and 'Haul bloss ab! .... which is not all that innocent. I think our good luck was that ErikaT also didn't know the German meaning @ BladeD nuder I realize it is technically a correct word according to any English dictionary, but how do you get nuder than nude?Peel off your skin? Perhaps you can even top it with 'nudest', but as I see it the basic 'nude' will overrule it. BTW: In Danish you only have 'nude' realizing you cannot run around skinning people. EDIT: Removed one 'out', corrected 'Haut' into 'Haul' and moved the sentence 'Peel off your skin?' to where I intended it to be .... Nuder...
----------------------------------------My only thought about the word is/was that it's a word. Thinking about its meaning was not a part of the deal. |

Nuder... Yes, it was, and no it wasn't and for me it's strictly technical, too. My only thought about the word is/was that it's a word. Thinking about its meaning was not a part of the deal. But since I mention it: Don't you find the logic limping? Otherwise English is a fairly logic language. |

I have never heard or seen the word used. Neither have I. Maybe people don't find it makes sense. |
