Validators seem to be stuck or at least slow, on-going since the weekend.
----------------------------------------I have lots of tasks pending validation on single issue, MIP, SCC and BETA. Paul.

As of....today or yesterday I'm getting VINA tasks on my windows PCs, despite my settings. It's giving me the message:
1/15/2018 3:26:50 AM No tasks are available for the applications you have selected No tasks are available for Microbiome Immunity Project No tasks are available for Help Stop TB No tasks are available for FightAIDS@Home - Phase 2 No tasks are available for Mapping Cancer Markers. Is this universal? |

Dayle,
Yes, and validators are stuck too. No doubt it will all get sorted out when the WCG start work. |

I've split this thread since this is a different issue then the website database outage.
Due to the Spectre and Meltdown bugs which we patched for on Jan 6 (https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/about_us/viewNewsArticle.do?articleId=548), we have been experiencing a much slower database and clustered filesystem. We have been trying to leverage any performance tuning that we can. Later today we will upgrade from MariaDB 10.1 to 10.2 in order to get some of the performance available in that upgrade. However, the systems are still struggling and we are looking at our options. The validation and workunit creation processes fell way behind over the weekend and so we are currently out of work. We've made some adjustments so things are catching up now, but it still may take a couple of hours for everything to catch up. |

Having problems uploading at the moment - "transient HTTP error" - and getting one I've not seen before - "Scheduler request failed: HTTP service unavailable".
Is this a continuation of the Spectre/Meltdown patch issues? |

Wasn't one of the "features" of moving to a cloud infrastructure, the ability to respond more quickly to resource needs by adding CPUs, storage paths, memory etc as needed since they are supposedly virtual?

We have now finished that update (which is what caused the HTTP errors that are reported). I should have updated everyone here when we started that - I apologize for that gap in communications. We are now running on the new database revision (MariaDB 10.2.12) and the system is working on catching up. |
