Re: Workunits have very long processing time

That fact is so pertinent, it should be posted on the project selection page.

Re: Workunits have very long processing time

For reference, my 1950x went from ~90min to ~55min moving from Win10 to Ubuntu. Same clocks.

Re: Workunits have very long processing time

Hi:

In response to the reply sent by Falconet, I think this information should be posted on each project's selection page so that each volunteer is aware of which OS is preferred for that particular project for efficient processing of the project's WUs.

There are no preferences in the OS. Just some calcs operate better in LINUX environment & some better in Windows environment.

You still calculate the same amount of time, as you do. Only difference is in the:
- more WUs done
- more points got

But the main reason, why it's all the same is: we all got badges for time, not contribution. cool

Re: Workunits have very long processing time

I'd like to think participants want their TIME to be used effectively, and would value knowing which project their computer is best suited to complete.

WCG lets us set up 'home', 'school' and 'work' preferences, which I've had to manually modify into Linux vs Windows project blends. Would have been so much easier if the project page was divvied up into 'equal in Windows/Mac" and "Faster in Linux".
