If you are running a workunit for 7.14 or 7.15, go ahead and abort it, these will go invalid on the validation.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Thanks, Keith. I aborted the two still running, and have reselected the project. We'll see what happens when the stream restarts!

Got home and saw some non-beta FAAH2 takes so I checked here for update. 3 invalid, 2 aborted by server and I aborted 6 others. At least it was caught pretty quick.

Anyone know if there is a significant difference between Windows and Linux for this application?

It's still BEDAM based, so if there was a difference under the 'Trickler' set, the same would apply to the AsyncRE. Think some noticed only a very marginal variation, certainly not worth one's time to micromanage this.

@Falconet: Anyone know if there is a significant difference between Windows and Linux for this application?
----------------------------------------I found before with the trickle-up FAH2 WUs that they ran about 20% slower under Linux x64 than under Windows 7 x64. That 20% figure was a guess and was not derived by averaging actual run times. I assume that these new WUs are the same. [Edit] Confirmed - tasks run 10-20% faster under Windows, and I'm also getting significantly more brownie points for each.[/Edit] Maybe the techs could investigate. Compiler options?? BTW, congratulations to WCG techs for getting AsyncRE into production status. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Rickjb at Nov 6, 2017 3:03:06 AM] |

Hello
----------------------------------------It seems there is a problem with the news WU. (?) I had one, I was alone to do it, it returned quickly, but it stay "pending validation". When I clik on the link of the WU I can see a link "essayer la validation" (try validation). I click on it and a message tells me "planifié pour validation" (planned for validation). That's the second time ti happens. The first, the Wu was "valid" after some minutes, after clicking. For the second, i'm waiting. (Edit, "valid" in the night) The first The second ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by Saphir12 at Nov 6, 2017 11:33:30 AM] |

I got one of these WU (50000 steps) on one of my older Win7 machines. It barely made it in the time limit with a run time of over 6 hours and a 0.5 day work buffer in play. The estimated run time for the WU on download was only about an hour so I had a few other WU buffered.
If BOINC hadn't bumped the FAH2 WU up to a high priority WU and put an in progress task on hold then it wouldn't have made it in time. |
