I started having a blue screen referring to some time of clock error. It has happened several times, but my short (non-computer) term memory limits me giving good details on the blue screen error. First happened when I was checking email in outlook 2013. Then just doing other web surfing stuff. Stopped happening when I uninstalled BOINC software and restarted when I reinstalled BOINC and stopped when I uninstalled BOINC.
No hardware or software changes, haven't been playing with the bios or overclocking. Seems to have started happening after WCG servers did their hiccup previously. Task list showed several listed as uploading, a couple ready to upload and two tasks running on my 8 core amd fx 9590 (Zambezi) black with a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 motherboard with f3 bios version, and four slots of memory with Kingston DDR3 8192 Mbytes in each slot. I'll wait to see what you pros can tell me before I reinstall BOINC and see what happens. I too, don't want to lose anything I have computed for WCG. I know there are some really smart people out there who enjoy being a part of this wonderful thing called WCG, who can get we back on the right track. Many Thanks Dave Root, Radcliff, Kentucky USA |

Could it be a simple overheating problem while running Boinc?

Nope, to google example - blue screen. Had overheating issues that were solved in previous post thread (keyword: "tinting"). Again, this started happening after the WCG servers went down (hiccuped) last weekend.

Folks, I uninstalled WCG and did a clean boot then reinstalled WCG. When it started all the uploading results became ready to report and then it starting downloading more tasks. Things got sorted out and I didn't lose anything. Back to normal. I am glad!
Thanks All! |
