Re: AMD THREADRIPPER

It's already getting left in the dirt by the 7900x, the 16 core version will be so far ahead it'll be hilarious.

Won't be getting taken in by AMD hype again, no matter how cheap they are.

Re: AMD THREADRIPPER

Also interesting to compare.

Dual AMD EPYC 7601 Crushing Cinebench R15 Windows Server 2012 R2 v 2016 Out of Box Experience https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32hTAooG98c

Crushing Cinebench V4 with 224 Threads and 4 Intel Xeon Platinum 8180 CPUs
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X_2FdkPBz64&t=0s 9000+ points ... shock

But there is very little application in the whole boinc that are programmed for the new cpu features like AVx +2 .. asteroids only show a real time improvement through avx . Or primegrid too.. Here on wcg i dont now..
These new cpu are wasting money on boinc applications becouse It is hard to believe that we will have on some boinc project , for example, be completely new app programed for "super cool "AVX-512 ...))
but i hope still biggrin

Re: AMD THREADRIPPER

Not sure if that's legit. Edit: I was referring to Paul_D's post ... the pic
I'm very happy with my 1700's output on WCG so far.

Re: AMD THREADRIPPER

Try running something else than the short FAHV, if that's what you're running with their hugely inflated credit/hs and then report back in 14 days, with normalized points.

Re: AMD THREADRIPPER

Sure, will do after i get my 100yrs badge in about a week.

My Team's captain also has a 1700 which avg about 17k boinc/day which is = about 119,000 wcg points/day. I don't think he's running FA@H though. Not bad for a $300 cpu.

Not sure if that's legit.

Go on, whats not legit about that? heres the link to the actual item so you can read all of it
http://wccftech.com/amd-ryzen-threadripper-19...formance-benchmarks-leak/

I haven't doctored the image so what then? I got wccftech to change the figures somehow?

I don't like it when facts don't follow my narrative either.
