I have a AMD FX-8350 a bit overclocked to 4.4.
it has a boinc lxc install with ubuntu 16.04 and kernel 4.8 I have it running on several project's but crashes only when running FAH2 for like 1-2 hours, I checked the log's everything is fine, I don't know why. it is running on all 8 cores at 50% of the time. temp's are bellow 50º C. Has this happen to anyone, or is there a fix? ps: FAH2 projects have an estimate time of 2 days on this system, I have P4 systems with 20 hours runs. |

1) Have you verified the computational integrity of the overclock by stress testing with Prime or an equivalent for 24 hours? When the end results matter, one has to be careful with an overclock.
----------------------------------------2) The completion time will scale down as multiple results are turned in. As a comparison "Workstation 3" below averages 15.5 hours. The estimated time started at ~28 originally. Since you're only running at half capacity, this needs to be factored in also. “Where an excess of power prevails, property of no sort is duly respected. From one ex-overclocker to the present overclocker: stop overclocking!
----------------------------------------We used to have many problems with overclocking machines...aborted WUs, not give time from crunching..ect. Go to stable nominal clock & go with higher % of time on CPU... ;) |
