Widely discussed, you need quasi permanent internet connection in order for the trickles, every 10% progress, to upload in the right order. Particularly the system is finicky about the last, 10th trickle coming in after all the previous. This is though the only known reason for FAHB going invalid.

Thanks Rob, I have made pertinent changes to my network to assure no network disconnect...

I hate my machine running 22+ hours on a unit only for it to be marked INVALID for reasons beyond my control. Do I still get credit for the work done?

See the FAQ on Results Status.
Invalid results are granted half-credit. Full CPU time and the result is also added to the My Contribution statistics. |

There should be a warning about this in the "My Projects" page before you sign up to FAAH2. And can't they just correctly number the trickles and reorder after uploading? |

The same thing happened to me 2 months ago I lost credit for 25 WU. Upon reviewing the computing requirements there was no mention of internet connectivity. I sent out an appeal to the FAH2 to tweak the wording of req. I got no replies to my Plea. My guess people just have got to learn the hard way. It is news to me you get credit for compute time so maybe calms people since that is what drives badges. [Edit 1 times, last edit by dcs1955 at May 30, 2017 12:51:46 AM] |

Not sure if this related to this issue, but I have a FAH2 WU that is stuck at 11% uploading. The complete error is:
----------------------------------------7/20/2017 12:31:47 PM | World Community Grid | Started upload of FAH2_001017_zinc02908937_000001_0001_030_1_r1462362743_7 7/20/2017 12:31:49 PM | World Community Grid | [error] Error reported by file upload server: can't open file 7/20/2017 12:31:49 PM | World Community Grid | Temporarily failed upload of FAH2_001017_zinc02908937_000001_0001_030_1_r1462362743_7: transient upload error 7/20/2017 12:31:49 PM | World Community Grid | Backing off 03:39:56 on upload of FAH2_001017_zinc02908937_000001_0001_030_1_r1462362743_7 Is this WU doomed? I've seen this error before with FAH2 WUs but I can't remember how it ended. Thanks, CJSL Gotta keep crunching, there's a world to save !!! |

If the trickle report was sent, then there's a 24 hour wait for the associated trickle file to upload. After that it's ...
----------------------------------------Trickle logging can be activated by adding the <trickle_debug>1</trickle_debug> tag to the cc_config.xml <log_flags> section. The manual is there > http://boinc.berkeley.edu/wiki/Cc_config.xml Personally, I'd cycle the client and hope for the best. Not much more that can be done. Edit: better check the tag code I gave, as this was OTTOMH ;o) [Edit 1 times, last edit by SekeRob* at Jul 20, 2017 6:11:33 PM] |
