Slammed WCG Servers?

Since I just hit 2 years on Smash Childhood Cancer, I decided to remove it from my profiles, and consider what to choose to take its place. I'm still trying for Help Stop TB units, but they seem to have, once again, become harder to catch. So, this morning, I added FightAIDS@Home to one of my boxes. Not only have the SCC units become small lately, the FA@H units are apparently even smaller. One unit that ran in the last hour took only 55 seconds. Most seem to run between 2 and 6 minutes. And this is on an older AMD Phenom II X4 965 overclocked to 3.8GHz.

It is no surprise, then, that I'm getting transient HTTP errors when transferring tasks. The servers must be running at full tilt to handle the load.

Re: Slammed WCG Servers?

Fight Aids @ Home is alternating with smaller WUs which last 1 min ~ 10 min and larger sized units lasting 1 ~ 1 1/2 hours per. The larger WUs have the term 'rigid' in the name. The small size is great for padding WU Completed numbers, but on occasion I can't upload WUs for a couple minutes.
