Invalid results on Mac running OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard

Hi everyone,
I'm a user since 2008 but due to computer problems (G5 processor) I had to stop working after a few months.
Last year I restarted with a Mac Mini Server 2011 (quad core i7) with OS X 10.8.5. I downloaded the Boinc client from WCG website (7.2.42) and then updated (7.6.33). Everything works perfectly, never an error or invalid result.
A few days ago I did the same thing on a Mac Mini Late 2009 (Core2 Duo) running OS X 10.6.8, but, with my surprise, i get all invalid results… sad
I checked the event register and looks all right, no errors reported...
I tried uninstalling the BOINC client with the appropriate tool, re-download the latest version (7.6.34) and reinstall, but always all invalid results. sad
On this machine was installed an old version of VirtualBox (4.3) and I uninstalled it, but no change… sad
I'm just working on the Smash Childhood Cancer project, so I suspended it and tried 2 WU of OpenZika project, both invalid… crying
I resumed my account on SETI@home and tried one WU from it, but at this time I'm still waiting for validation (it may take a long time)
I search both the Boinc and the WCG forum, but I have not found any problems like mine, only similar, old or useless in this case.
As already mentioned by other users, the system requirements page does not specify which OS versions are supported, so i don't known if this is an HW, SW or OS problem. confused
I do not think it's a hw problem, this machine is as solid as a rock, and often I have used all available memory (8 GB) without problems.
The only programs that run along the Boinc Client are EyeTV (to watch TV on your computer via a USB decoder) and the Screen Sharing (for the remote control of the other Mac Mini). I tried for 6 hours without these programs and nothing has changed.
At this point seems an OS (or processor?) compatibility issue or a configuration error.

Thanks in advance for any ideas smile

Very complete report. Suggest you try a non-Vina based science such as MCM, mapping cancer markers and see what happens.

SekeRob *, thanks for the suggestions
I'm now trying one MCM WU, I just hope not to wait 10 days for validation....
I have read that sometimes strange things happen with vina-based projects.
Is there a way to figure out which projects are vina-based?

Re: Invalid results on Mac running OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard

The executable has the science engine name in it. OET, SCC, ZIKA and FAAH run off VINA. (if memory serves me well 🙃

Edit:correction, FAH2 runs BEDAM, but run very long as can HST1, and hard to get.

I thought FAH1 ran VINA, and FAH2 did not. I may be mistaken though.

Corrected post, it really being FAHV, the V for VINA, as part of the FAAH phase 1 project to make confusion complete😩

Re: Invalid results on Mac running OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard

The SETI WU has been properly validated and the MCM WU is still in validation.
SekeRob*, I think you are right about the vina-based.
I did some more testing with SCC WUs, but i got always invalid results, so now I have canceled all remaining WUs in the queue.
Thanks for support wink
