Ah Ok Sgt Joe, something in the braincell was telling me some of the CEP/CEP2 were extended to 24hr from 18hr, maybe I've confused myself and they were extended to 18hrs.
----------------------------------------Glad it wasn't just me with a long run time unit. However, a unit that takes weeks to do, yikes! ![]() |

I've got a T325 monster WU. It's been going for 15 hours already and is only 8% complete. The estimate shows another 7d of crunching time to complete, but the deadline is 22-April (just 4 days away).
----------------------------------------Normally the T3xx and T4xx WUs only take ~22-24hrs to complete on this machine. Since I will pass the deadline, should I abort this WU or keep it going? ![]() |

I have 8 WU's running that will take est 28 hrs ? ![]() There is a weirdball solution to this. I had one that had run 79 hours on a 50% power laptop with 19 hours remaining that was still going up. Exit BOINC and REBOOT. Mine now shows 8 hours completed with 9 hours remaining.

However, a unit that takes weeks to do, yikes! hypnotized You are not running any climateprediction.net I assume. These come with a deadline about a year away, and on my machine, they estimate about 1050 hours of computation. Fortunately, they run faster than they think on my machine, so they take only about 400 hours to run. ![]() |

As I hadn't seen anything in the forum about units having such long runtimes it threw me seeing the estimated time to finish as over 1 day. Don't think I have seen any unit for any project I have run give such an estimate. I have occasionally WUs that would take up to 36h on a slow dual-core machine. The laptop is an AMD dual core running at about 2.1ghz. It has been plodding through the unit for the last 2 days at work, as it is the weekend it will have a break and then back to it on Monday. Glad that it should complete in time, as at that kind of runtime it isn't going to suit all users here at WCG. Someone who crunches for a couple of hours a day may not complete it in time. Right now a Linux laptop of mine has one that has been running for 17h in the last two days (it gets shut down at night) and estimates another 16h to go. I just let those WUs do their thing, they are hard to come by to begin with... Ralf |
