Why don't we have adds subforum?

Just had an idea to sell to members some items under the price of the market, as it's going to stay in the WCG family. But we don't have such a subforum here, so opened a topic like this:
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...39858_lastpage,yes#540754

Maybe WCG would like to open their new subforum for adds about selling some COMPUTER items between us. Techs, admins - what do you think? You'd be benefiting from more power in the devices, users will benefit as they get some items under price (as there are no charge of eBAY or other sites), seller will sold their items.

Everybody's winning. cool

Re: Why don't we have adds subforum?

KLiK,

Selling anything on the World Community Grid forums is against the Communication Guidelines, and not allowed:

'Our forum, social media channels, and other online publishing spaces are not intended for personal or non-World Community Grid related topics or agendas, for sharing confidential or restricted information, or soliciting sales or employment. This site is not a place to promote any non-World Community Grid cause or issue.'

The thread you started with your items that are for sale has been removed, as well.

Thank you for your understanding and support,
ErikaT

Re: Why don't we have adds subforum?

Hi Erika (and others!),
Long story short, I have never wanted/needed to sell my hardware but not moving on, I will be upgrading a lot more.
In the near future, I am thinking of upgrading my Xeon V3's to Xeon V4's but would like the V3's to continue crunching for WCG but have never known how to go about making sure this happened.

KLiK's suggestion intrigued me though and I was wondering if there was a place/avenue to do this already.

I am not a member of XtremeSystems, but I think they have quite a lively marketplace going on their team site. Try contacting them here
Cheers

Re: Why don't we have adds subforum?

Hard Forums has a DC FS/FT sub forum that is geared towards selling gear at a cheaper rate for such purpose. It is separate from their regular FS/FT section and is intended to be sold at a discounted rate for those using it for this purpose. You can find it here: https://hardforum.com/forums/dc-fs-ft.111/

Edit: Just make sure to follow the rules: https://hardforum.com/threads/distributed-computing-fs-ft-rules.975902/
