From remote and see through the TeamViewer peekhole that devices are thoroughly parched, since quite a while.

Keep in mind that OpenZika was chosen as the sole WCG sub-project to be ran this year in the 8th Annual BOINC Pentathlon. The challenge starts on the 5th which means many people will begin filling their cache's to "bunker" for it. If the techs haven't been planning or haven't been warned, work for OpenZika is going to be sucked up non-stop for probably 10 days. Additional work buffers should probably be prepared.

Maybe you should refer to BOINC Pentathlon issuers to get proper informations.

Yes, OpenZIKA was voted by the participating teams of the 8th BOINC Pentathlon this year for the "City Run", May 5 to 9.
----------------------------------------The organisation team was in contact with the techs and discussed, which subproject will have enough workunits during the event. After the feedback, there were three subprojects, where the participating teams could vote for until April, 27th. FightAIDS@Home - Phase 1 Mapping Cancer Markers OpenZika The most votes were for OpenZika, and the official announcement was last night.

I'm not getting WU's for any project. Started slowing down about four hours ago. Now getting nothing.

I'm not getting WU's for any project. Started slowing down about four hours ago. Now getting nothing. I get WUs from all other projects, well beside HST, which has been a scarce resource anyway and no new OpenZIKA.Jerry But I seriously question why OpenZIKA was select on that stupid competition, as this projects has had always intermittent outages. And why do those participating in that competition load up on WUs 5 (five) days before the start of that competition. Just doesn't make any sense, whatsoever... But I seriously question why OpenZIKA was select on that stupid competition, as this projects has had always intermittent outages. Totally agree... It is now hours ago since I received my last Zika WU. Have started crunching SCC as machines would otherwise run dry. All these wretched competitions do is disrupt genuine crunchers, and for what? If we must have these competitions then the WCG should obviously commit to monitor like a hawk the supply of WUs for the selected project(s) as soon as announced. Obviously even that didn't happen in this case...

Tony,
In the past I have had alerts that would warn me about work being low. However, I recently changed cell providers and those alerts stopped, I don't get alerts when things are working well, so I assumed things were working well. I will be working on Monday to get those straightened out. Again, my apologies for the disruption of work units. As of right now, ZIKA work is loading on the grid. Thanks, -Uplinger |
