Hi, I would like to know why Cuba does not appear in the list of countries of WCGrid since the relations with the government of the United States have already normalized. I think it could already be included. Thank you.

Relations are not "normalized." That takes action by Congress.
See these two links on why WCG can not list Cuba. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=1066 https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg...hread,5191_offset,0#43475 I tried to look up which countries are currently embargoed by the US by the current administration has taken that off it's website. |

And I thought the W in WCG meant 'World'. Apparently not!

Hello all,
Here is the updated policy on the country exclusions list, from the IBM Corporate Legal Department: "The United States currently imposes economic sanctions against Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and the Crimea region of Ukraine. The economic sanctions, among other things, prohibit the exportation or reexportation from the United States or by U.S. persons (wherever located) of goods, technology, and services to these countries. This prohibition applies to the World Community Grid and its volunteers." Thank you for your support, ErikaT |
