EDIT: I should add, these trickles are useful as it gives the researchers the date created by your computer, even if you are unable to finish the WU. 60% done? No problem. 30% done? Still useful. And then the servers make the next WU based on how much of the WU your computer was able to complete. Seoul. I reread your post and wondered if what you said above explained that 5 of the 24 invalid FAH2 WU showed that I was "granted BONIC Credit" Is this accurate. can you get some credit if the WU is diemed invalid? In the case of my lame manual switch of the connection could I have sent trickles in the correct order to establish progress to a given percentage until declared Invalid? |

Can't complain with my wobbly internet, but as lastly posted in the upload server down thread, I've set Max xfer to 1 at project level in the cc_config.xml
<max_file_xfers>8</max_file_xfers> <max_file_xfers_per_project>1</max_file_xfers_per_project> could be more luck than wisdom, but lastly netted 22 in one fetch and been allowing them to crunch 3 at a time [app_config.xml control], and working on the last, the comp that is. |

What I'm speculating on, 1 at the time is sequentially uploading as the files have been written to the transfer queue [though, if there are back-offs that sequence might get broken]. Anyway, it works for me on both counts, no trouble with uploading as it reduces the number of open threads to WCG, not overrunning their limit which causes the "we're incurring overload.... backing you off... the client will try again later" round about when the short FAHV go out and everyone is hammering the servers at 3/33 minutes after the hour.

In WCG only FAH2 uses the trickle WUs.
----------------------------------------Sorry to hear you wasted time with those WUs that errored out but glad you know what the problem is and the fans got dusted at the same time. Thanks for asking and not giving up on the project. :) |

Fellow FAH2 contributors. I finally got my ethernet switch so I don't need to go upstairs to manually switch internet connection. I looked at the system requirements for FAH2 and could not see an obvious mention of the requirement for 100% internet connectivity to handle the "trickle" transfers. For whomever is in control of such matters, the requirements should mention this particular requirement.
