I gave up on running HSTB exclusively, so my machine runs most WCG tasks, climateprediction, rosetta, and seti@home. I have a 4-core Xeon processor, 64-bit. For August, I have received only these work units.

Another possibility - are all your CPU's Intel or some AMD?
HSTB has problems with AMD CPU's. |

I got a workunit today that is at 3.8% complete after 4.5 hours with my 3.2 GHz intel cpu. Never seen one from HSTB require that long before. I'm worried if I give it the 100+ hours it might error out 😅
----------------------------------------Anyone else get a super slow one like that? Take your bets. Legit, or doomed workunit? [Edit 1 times, last edit by sohleks at Jan 26, 2018 7:30:42 AM] |

With a work unit like that I would first try rebooting my system to see if it is just stuck. If it continues to try to run super slow like it has been, I would abort it. Cheers

Seems to be quite a bit of variation in the WU's being sent out at the moment. I've got 3 valid results in my returned list right now and they've all got pretty different times.

I extended the hibernate timer on my computer to make sure I can finish it in the week deadline. And when I woke up today it is gone. Its been sent in and validated at just under 8 hours of cpu time. I suppose it was just the progress bar being silly.
