WCG preferences override Boinc client's project manager settings

Hi there.
I'm using BAM! to control my crunching gear and have it using web preferences on all my machines.
Some projects prefer to load other preferences which leads to several problems, like too few disk space, too few RAM or, on my notebooks, too high use of the cpu. This is not so nice and may even stop projects from being able to run at all.
WCG is still able to top this, settings its preferences as source for web preferences instead of my carefully per machine set BAM!-preferences. I can say that I'm not too pleased with this behaviour as it leads to all of the above-mentioned issues plus it prevents me from using remote maintenance which is quite nice-to-have when running a lot of machines.
Some hours ago I had a case of this again, even told BAM! to disconnect all of my machines from WCG to get rid of this problem, but it keeps occuring even after disconnecting WCG and resyncing with BAM!.

I started crunching WCG back back when it was still running on PowerMacs because I think it's a reasonable thing (which I still believe), but I'm not contributing much due to the hassle it is to solve the problems it brings.
Is there anything that can be done about this?

Re: WCG preferences override Boinc client's project manager settings

Seems to me I have read somewhere that WCG is not BAM compatible. Some people seem to have good luck with BoincTasks for managing their remote systems. I do not use either one, so can not offer any personal advice.
Cheers

Re: WCG preferences override Boinc client's project manager settings

Thanks for the answer.
Indeed, WCG is not really BAM! compatible.
BAM! takes care of my password and uses it on any Boinc project I add to my profile. On WCG this doesn't work.
(Hrm. This might be a hint for myself... Gonna check this out.)

Nonetheless it should not creep out my Boinc manager.
I think I might have found out why this occured, although I don't understand the technique behind it.
I'm have been discussing this via PN today (well, yesterday...) and additionally opened a thread on this in the Rechenkraft.net forums.

Re: WCG preferences override Boinc client's project manager settings

Issue is solved.
It apparently occured because of WCG using new time-stamps on our preferences.
Still don't know why it did come back several times even after updating my BAM! prefs to a new time-stamp, but with a little help from PrimeGrid where I was able to get rid of the 'home' venue for my machines plus updating every single pref on BAM! I seem to be fine now.
