confused Project still downloading Files despite being completed.

I reattached all of the projects on one of my computers (not just Grid), and I saw that the UGM PNG files downloaded despite it being a completed project. Shouldn't it not?

Re: Project still downloading Files despite being completed.

I believe that is a normal event that happens for any BOINC project, not just WCG. When you attach to a project in BOINC, you have to download some number of files in order to be able to crunch any WU for that project. Keep in mind that most BOINC projects (eg, WCG) are ONE project. WCG is different in that the WCG project consists of multiple projects/sub-projects or sciences. When you attach to WCG, to crunch WCG wu, you'll need certain files to crunch wu for all of its projects/sub-projects. It is your profile for WCG (a part of WCG, not BOINC) that tells WCG which of its projects you want to crunch.

Re: Project still downloading Files despite being completed.

Why don't a WCG make a script to delete executive files for UGM & all past researchers? Or they don't care about our space on HDD?

Re: Project still downloading Files despite being completed.

Klik, I believe WCG does that. The files involved in this case are the files required by BOINC itself. With most projects, you only have one set of files as you are either attached to the project or not. With WCG, you have to attach the WCG project to BOINC to crunch ANY of WCG's projects. I believe that means each WCG project has to have these required files for BOINC even if you don't crunch that WCG project.

Re: Project still downloading Files despite being completed.

KLiK, WCG cares significantly more about our space on HDD or SSD than, for example, Microsoft does.

What problem do you have all the time? I have not seen a bigger whiner than yourselves on this boards since I have started to shrub WCG rolling eyes
