Never seen that before. Even on a brand new install.

Plot thickening, why even tell there's work for other platforms, when somehow a mysterious quota was exceeded.

There's no telling even what science the finger is being whacked at... sometimes FAAH Vina is included in the message, top post, sometimes it's not, so the wildest guess is there was work for Vina, but the machine cant have hit (Got 40 VINA returned, 100 in buffer waiting on Zika/OET/HST, yes HST too to finish).

How many results/day are the max? I vaguely remember reading there was a max, but thought that only usually reared its head on large core/thread systems. Could these short FAAH jobs be the culprit? I haven't noticed any strangeness on my few desktops, but I am still mostly getting MCM with a mix of MCM, FAAH, and HSTB (<-- Hah to getting any of those)

'Vague' is the operative word here

35 per core is the limit on "in progress" WUs. AFAIK, there isn't a limit per day except maybe what is loaded into the feeder. The only time I have encountered the quota is either due to a lot of errors or a new host. When I have added a new host, it will start out with 1 WU per core + 1 until it has returned a given number of valid WUs. IIRC, the quota gets raised after a while (maybe at 0000 UTC). One question I have always had is if a host hasn't returned work in a long time, is that host's reliability history lost and, in effect, it is unreliable again until meeting the reliability requirements? In which case it may have a quota attached to it again. If your's is not a new host, or had a lot of errors, and has returned work recently then I'm stumped. I would think there would be something wrong with that host's definition on the server side...

I got this just now on a cruncher that has had no problems for six months.

I apologize for the delayed response.
----------------------------------------The log message "This computer has finished a daily quota of 5 tasks" is sent when the system has limited the number of results that your computer can get for a specific app (it would be nice if it reported which app). You should not be inhibited from fetching work from other apps. This limiting occurs based on errors returned or invalids. My guess is that the issue with the faah batch triggered this for some folks. This should self correct as the user returns results and they are validated. Please let me know if this is not happening. Also - this is set as the initial limit for a host with a app-version is hasn't run previously so you might have gotten this as the starting condition as well. Again, as good/valid results are returned this limit is raised". The log message "This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress" says that you have reached the limit, per core for tasks in progress on that host. Please let me know if this is limiting your contribution in some way. [Edit 1 times, last edit by knreed at Dec 15, 2016 3:20:49 PM] |
