Re: FightAIDS@Home - Vina - Officially Restarted

The System Requirements page might need an update as "Uncovering Genome Mysteries" is still listed there and "FightAIDS@Home" is missing now.

+1

Was checking this page to see if I can run the current VINA tasks on Android.

Will there be more workunits after the current experiments are done?

@Stiwi

I cannot answer your question directly, but I can show we've got a lot time left to crunch.

Even though their page mentions 79% completed...
http://fightaidsathome.scripps.edu/Capsid/index.html

...IBM's current ECD is 2027-08-28
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/api/project?shortName=faah

...and KLiK's current ECD is 2022-08
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,39475_offset,60

so it looks like there is a fair amount more work hiding that hasn't shown up on the Scripps page. Hope this is useful to you.

Re: FightAIDS@Home - Vina - Officially Restarted

thx but i already knew this^^
But unfortunately I don't trust the progress bar of wcg, so I hoped the researchers could confirm that there are more experiments :)

The EOP specifically on the FAAH was set with a purpose (tech who done it, explained). Anyone who uses that date and then puts it through big fat thumb mathturbations to come to some alternate EOP or whatever is just spreading 'you cant make it up' round file class output, plain and simple. For sure, available work and 'maybe anticipated' work/experiment has absolutely zero to do with this... the date is just reflecting Open Ended.

Put differently, those who know when to hit the ignore button go with what work we have knowledge of and then do an reasoned projection, such as what Sgt.Joe does periodically for MCM1.

The current supply of VINA workunits will run out in about 3 weeks (estimated). There are plans to run additional work after this, but there will be a delay before those work units are available. It isn't know how long this delay will be.

Thanks.
The Capsid project page says we're now at 81.76%, so I assume you mean we'll finish this project by that time. Does it mean, there will be more work beyond the Capsid project ?

Re: FightAIDS@Home - Vina - Officially Restarted

Did the WUs just get MUCH longer to crunch? What used to be 17min ish are now taking 2-3 hours! I'm going to have some serious overages on due dates! (Just to make sure it wasn't on my end, I checked the processor speed; it hasn't changed)
