Thread: How come it takes so long for my results to grant credit? |

New to BOINC and still learning how the system works. I have looked around to try to understand how the BOINC credit system works but I haven't seen anything that addresses why there is such a long delay in my results being validated. Currently my points generated is around 250,000 but I only have 670 returned results. If I check the "Results Status" page there are many results still stuck pending from over 8 days ago when I completed that work. Also I have read that some people have work that returns 500 points per result. I am only getting around 50-60.

If there is a wingman requirement [click on the work unit name to see], and the wingman is slow or ended in error, more copies need sending before validation can be completed. If you see distribution detail with at least 2 with Pending Validation/Verification, copy/paste a copy of that distribution as then something is stcuk.

I'm not seeing anything using the term Wingman, but here is a copy paste of one of the works stuck as pending.

On 'points', that's a factor 7 of 'credit' which is what you see on the result status page, so 60 * 7 = 420. Points has as factor for instance runtime, not all results requiring same amount of computing effort... it varies from task to task.

Your 'Wingman' here is the one who computes the second copy, if required, to validate if yours OK.Here the second copy was not returned... You cant get credit before more than your computer has done it's part of the job. The bottom part is your work. Over it is another computer (aka Wingman) what probebly been turned off and dont reply. So the server sended another copy to another computer what is working on the task. |

Ohhhh I see thats how the validation works I see. Is there a way to see if my PC has been configured properly for generating results? I have changed the settings in the BOINC app to higher CPU usage since I leave it on when I am not at home. GPU is turned on too but from what I read that Zika and other programs do not support GPU use at the moment.
