Dual socket Xeon, Linux, NUMA is apparently enabled. Should I use 50%, 75%, 100%-1 or 100% for a dedicated WCG server?

There's no 'should', it's all voluntary :O)
According this thread https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ead_thread,38956_offset,0 HSTb has a limit of 32 threads after which more concurrent of this science drops the efficiency. Whether this is NUMA related, it does not say. All other except for CEP2 can run all out. |

HyperThreading adds 20% performance for 20% more power consumption, if I remember correctly.
----------------------------------------So unless your work units aren't finishing in time, there isn't much reason to turn it off. If you do turn it off, do it in the bios instead of setting a CPU percentage in boinc. NUMA doesn't do anything for BOINC as far as I know, it's a nice feature to have though :) So unless you use the rig for somehing else as well, go 100%. ![]() |

Hyperthreading also generates twice the runtime.
