Result no longer usable
Hi,

My boinc agent is happily processing WU, but I've got a zombie task. How do I remove it please?

The current event log is: (sorry its long, what I think is the interesting stuff is shown below this log)

I believe that the interesting lines are of the form 

<timestamp> | World Community Grid | Result faah858449_ZINC02502016_x4GW6aINleA_00_0 is no longer usable
which dates back to 2014.


So how do I get rid of faah858449_ZINC02502016_x4GW6aINleA_00_0 without disrupting the currently working WUs?

Have you selected the task and tried to abort it?

You can do a removal the 'expert' way, but then I'd have to write a very long instruction which is bound to get messed up, soooooo... you can do 2 more easy things. 1) Hit project reset now, AFTER aborting all ready to start tasks AFTER first setting No New work, and finish what's running. 2) Hit project reset now without further thought and resume. The work that gets eliminated is immediately reassigned to other computers [sans delay], i.e. just move on.

Given the cloud issues WCG has, there's some chance of there developing a download issue fetching a new set of fixed application files, so just let it be is the 3rd way. cool

Thanks Rob,

that worked, I waited until a couple of long running WUs had finished, stopped Boinc getting any more WUs, waited for idle Boinc and reset the project. My zombie WU has gone. Curiously I couldn't find a windows process that appeared to be running the WU, but your plan worked. I had tried aborting the WU several times, no joy.
