So my remote cruncher is on the fritz,
down to 20 cores (with HT)
still no computer,
waiting til they get the bugs out of zen.
However,
today or tomorrow should hit TWO HUNDRED MILLLLLLLION points!

Grats!
No need for 32 cores yet as we still dont know the cost and efficiency yet.
Ryzen 1700 will serves you well for now. You can build one for under $1k, it's doable. I replaced my Q6600 with 1700 a couple days ago and i'm loving the points it's producing :)

Mine was running at 3.7ghz for 3 days straight on win10 with no issues. Temperature had never go past 65C using AMD stock cooler.. ambient 21C / 70F .. i set my AC at 70F :)
Power draws 165W loaded for the whole system.
I just wiped win10 and installed ubuntu 17.04 last night, so I need to let it run like a week to get the average number for PPW.

Mobo: MSI Tomahawk + cpu + ram cost me $500. Re use other parts from my Q6600 machine.

well heck....
down to 1 computer,
took 2 years to go from 100 years to 125
but if current computing continues it will take maybe 5 years to go to 150
at least i made 125!!!!!!!
in 2 years

I'm so not satisfied.....
Trying to talk my wife into getting into the grid (she was happy to crunch for rice, wanted to feed the world).
But I'm not going to make it to 200 years...
Need to get solar and set up several computers....
Funny thing, love playing video games, and setting someone up to die "from the grave". like a time delayed poison/explosion.
I wanna cure something FROM THE GRAVE!
but in real life.
I think 2025 tops is my life expectancy,
but if i'm dying and have 50 cores running I will feel better at the end.
Some poeple tell me that i should have run bitcoin years ago,
I say that RUNNING FOR THE CURE is so much more important!
ALL YOU VOLUNTEERS GO GO GO!!!!!!!!
