Why is World Community Grid about to remove itself from my Projects list???

Would anyone happen to know why the BOINC manager on my PC says this morning that World Community Grid will be removing itself once it completes the current tasks? After all the years and computational hours I've put into the various distributed computing efforts associated with World Community Grid, this is quite concerning.
Haven't yet checked the other computers on which I run the BOINC client to see if they have the same message on the Projects tab.
As far as I can tell, there's nothing about WCG going away or tightening requirements for client machines on the BOINC, BAM!, WCG, or WCG forum sites. So what's going on? Anyone know?

You will have executed such a command with e.g. the boinccmd tool and the detach_when_done instruction , . WCG can not remove itself.

Are you using an account manager? They can also issue such commands.

BAM! removed mine as they still think the project URL is https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org instead of the current http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org .

Re: Why is World Community Grid about to remove itself from my Projects list???

What a joke... I see the same now... the one client that's attached to BAM has work fetch suspended, and remove project when done. Great move by Willy.

WCG techs/Admin... better knock that BOINCStats door, a little loud please.

BTW Moonian, my WCG is attached with http://worldcommmunitygrid.org according my BOINC Manager, so what is it.... https now required?

Had BAM attached to the one client for test purposed, but no longer... done a stop on that relationship. Set the 'Allow new tasks' button and new work came but the 'Will remove when tasks done.' is not going away. Long as there's work flowing guess that command will not execute. Now to find how to revoke that call.

Took a while after removing BAM and allowing new wrok by operating the button in the BM, but eventually the 'Will remove when tasks done' disappeared.

Re: Why is World Community Grid about to remove itself from my Projects list???

A thread was started at the BOINCStats forum BAM bug section https://boincstats.com/en/forum/18/10956,1 , where Willy commented that the message "The error is nothing more than annoying". If you find that WCG has been removed and not re-added, post there.

@knreed, be prepared to see the stats drop for anyone who does not action to "Allow new tasks" in their BOINC Managers.

edit: insert link

Re: Why is World Community Grid about to remove itself from my Projects list???

Had the exact same error with Albert/Einstein@home plus BAM. Everyone connected to these accounts via BAM was tormented by daily suspend-detach-reattach-"you're using the wrong URL"-suspend-detach- ........ for days.
Then it somehow was sorted out. if it doesn't go away you might want to detach BAM.
So far, my BAM-attached WCG machine had already been attached and re-attached once and was about to re-detach itself once more. Went out of work for a couple of hours. ugh.

Fine toothcomb through the log to find the 'offending' messages. Evident, the date makes clear the BAM profile was not touched for 3 weeks, and now it decides this:

On the 12th contact was made to say

12-Jun-2016 00:51:51 [---] Account manager: BAM! User: 0007, Sekerob
12-Jun-2016 00:51:51 [---] Account manager: BAM! Host: 1234567

On the 13th contact is made, and all is still fine...

On the 14th, contact was made to detach (not telling when that next communication would be, but since I've set it to do this every 24 hours...)

6644 6/14/2016 12:51:59 AM (to change preferences, visit a project web site or select Preferences in the Manager)

Since I have no plans to wait for BAM! to toil around and decide next time the URL needs switching back again, ended the merry go round before it could get in motion and detached from BAM! instead. (Nothing remote to manage, so why keep a wheel that can throw spokes.
