CPU/Processor Usage

Is it possible to set up the computing preferences in such a way that BOINC is allowed to use a certain % of my CPU/processor (say 20%) whilst my computer is in use, but then use a different % of my CPU/processor (say 80%) whilst my computer is not in use?

Re: CPU/Processor Usage

No, but you can but you can use boinccmd tool to change the setting, then script this and make shortcuts on your desktop... run all, run minimal e.g.

This has been discussed a number of times on these forums i.e. maybe there are prior [scripted] solutions published, either on WCG or the Berkeley BOINC forums.

NO!

But, you can:
- turn the science completely OFF, when you use certain programs
- turn the science completely OFF, when you use computer
- play with TThrottle & lets say 50-60°C setting (will get you same results)
wink
