I cannot figure out how to participate. The list of Biology/Medicine projects in Boinc does not include OpenZika. What to do?

Have you attached to the Worldcommunitygrid.org project? From there under MY PROJECTS, you should find the Zika project to select, save, and you should be good to go.

Just to clear out the confusion (Jason1478963 is correct, just attach to the Worldcommunitygrid.org project).
Worldcommunitygrid.org (WCG) is an 'umbrella' boinc project, where OpenZika is one of the applications that run under WCG. Hence you tell boinc to attach to Worldcommunitygrid.org. If you want to participate only to OpenZika, you need to tell that to WCG, not boinc. After attaching boinc to Worldcommunitygrid.org log into: http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewMyProjects.do and check only OpenZika, but please also check the "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project." so that you can help the other applications if there is insufficient work for the OpenZika application. |

I am crunching OpenZika wu's now. But, despite having selected ONLY that project, I keep getting wu's for other ones. I kill them. I have nothing against the others and have contributed time to them, right now I want NOTHING but OpenZika wu's. All other projects are unchecked. How do I control this?

If you only want Zika then don't check:

There are very limited WUs for OpenZika. Check out the various threads in the OpenZika forum here for more details, for example https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,39224 Actually your information is dated and there should be plenty of WUs for Open Zika right now. (Even though I have HST checked as well, I mostly get Open Zika WUs). I'm not sure what the cause of your problem actually is. Once thing I would make sure of is that you're not using a different profile than the one you checked which only lists Open Zika WUs as an option. |

Dated is understated [or Apis was thinking of HST1?]. It's been pump-up-the-volume, and hardly been below 300,000 a day, peaking at times over 500,000, which it again is moving towards. https://bit.ly/WCGTpd7
