You forgot to include the tongue in cheek ending in your select snip quoting (or it was intentional). Yes, it's there as a sorry excuse ;P) I'd rather see the information laid out correctly calculated by the client and be able to control it instead of the top-down and know the buffer size is permanently bunco, hardly ever the amount we set the client to buffer.

And who decides what is "correctly?"
know the buffer size is permanently bunco, hardly ever the amount we set the client to buffer.

That's been an issue for a long time. Is it WCGs fault or does the problem default to the BOINC client itself? I don't ever remember having a problem with it before the 7.x.xx clients started to appear. But then again maybe I mismembered on that one.

The origin is the poor fpops estimate in the tasks. Laid out correct is show the data as is and the misinformation we now get (The TTC) for pretty much all but UGM. MDDS looks to go the same route.. TTC at Ready to Start point hardly to match actuals.

It was WCG to set the switch though, the v7 client can act exactly the same as v6 and earlier.

The last set of beta kind of gave away what is being tested 'Nonstructural Protein 5 (NS5)', which connects with... well let's keep it a public secret... NS5 is like AVX, another coincidence of which there are number today ;D
