Fight aids and uncovering genome work units getting too long for slower computer

ok its summer time any my computer heating up the house is not good...

i have a problem though

i am getting fight aids and Genome work units that end up with longer times to complete than the return due by date...

i am hopeing to get specific types of work units here but because of the options i can select the 1-2 projects i want and get none other and run out of work.. or select all but fight aids and genome and remove the other work and not get work units i want...

eithor way it is almost impossible to get some work units without tons of manual controls and adjustments,,,and aborting of lots of work units.

we either need to make longer times till work units expire.. or make the work units smaller

Re: Fight aids and uncovering genome work units getting too long for slower computer

Per https://bit.ly/WCGUGM1 the daily average runtime for UGM is about 3.4 hours and very constant. For FAH2 there a short T000 and long types, T300 and above. OET are shorter than UGM in general. For OET and UGM, shortest deadline would be like 2.4 days, where my 1.8-2.0Ghz running laptop does them all in under 7 hours, I.e not understand failing repair deadlines if you set buffer low or zero with constant supply, which they are.

I believe you are referring to HST . The FAH2 units are consistently running 12-13 hours on average systemwide. If the FAH2 units are too long I would suggest just running the UGM, OET and MCM1 units.

OK, so run FAHB only...you get credited to every 10% you calculate towards the end of WU!

also, check OET...maybe you can do some good there?!

keep in mind of the "computer upgrade" & "pre-summer cleaning" of computers!

After looking at the picture of your jobs my first suggestion would be to shorten your queue to about 1/2 day. Then, since FAHB are long running on your system, opt out of that. You may also want to opt out of HST1 as some of those units can be long running also, although some of them are fairly short.
Cheers

I've has similar queue times on multiple PCs and have the number of tasks vary greatly. For me, it has to do with the number of cores crunching. Lower the number of cores perhaps (as a %)
