Re: Investigating server issues impacting volunteers

Is this the reason for the OET validator being switched off?

Re: Investigating server issues impacting volunteers

Greetings everyone,

A few days ago, we temporarily switched away from using our Content Delivery Network due to a change that was implemented designed to help with file downloads. The change broke the use of https over CDN, so we switched to have all files download directly to worldcommunitygrid.org. This has caused an increase load on the web servers, which unfortunately was running quite a bit more busy then usual. The servers hit a snag and were not able to recover from, which caused the site outage.

We have moved the validators/transitioner and a few other tasks away from the web servers on to other machines to decrease the load. We are also working to get the CDN back up and running which hopefully will be soon. Also, during this time, we have updated some of our load balancer rules.

Again, we apologize for the unplanned outage and hope to have everything back to normal soon.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

anhhai,

I'm attempting to clear your scheduler requests from the backup systems and hopefully this will solve your issue.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: Investigating server issues impacting volunteers

anhhai,

I saw requests to the backup servers for scheduler request coming in. I have cleared those from the backups and have not seen any more requests in the past 5 minutes, please let me know if you are still encountering the issue.

Thanks,
-Uplinger
