The whole badge concept is flawed in my opinion. X crunches work units on a 233MHz Celeron for a day, gets the same crunching credit as my 4GHz i7's do. Who has done the most work?

Well, yes and no. I'm sure it's been said before, that badges demonstrate the time committed to a project, and points demonstrate the amount of work. The official answer is along the lines that WCG wants to recognise both.

Not really. Its been discussed so many times that CPU time is the most equitable of all 3 "scoring" methods and can't be gamed. WCG made the correct choice. Also newer machines have more cores and do many times the amount of CPU time that an old Celeron does per day.
