How to switch users on a machine?

Hi, everyone!
Here's my situation and the question: I have 2 computers, each running WCG. On my laptop I'm logged in with my original account I created years ago. On my new computer I created a new account so I could monitor how much each of the two computers were outputting. On the new CPU, I must have logged in on the WCG website as my original account and downloaded the software. I then created the new account, but now can't get it linked to my new computer.

I've tried removing the WCG software from my new CPU, logging out on the website and restarting the computer, but when I boot back up, log in as the correct user on the website and then download the software, it picks up where it left off with the original user account.

I hope that was clear... please let me know if you need any clarification. Any help would be greatly appreciated! =)

-Chris

Re: How to switch users on a machine?

The 'account' with which you connect to WCG is independent of your system's user account... in fact, I'd consider that a security risk if system and wcg user account used the same credential information.

In BOINC Manager, select WCG under the advanced view project tab, detach/remove WCG, then add project WCG again via the Tools > Add Project menu option, and when asked provide the other WCG account info [If you have 2 WCG member accounts].

It's not necessary what you want to do. WCG keeps track per computer in the My Contribution > Device Statistics of how much each machine contributes.

Thanks a million, SekeRob!! This worked perfectly! I wish I just asked HOURS ago! Ha ha! =D I was too afraid to remove the project, it didn't seem like that was the way about it, but it was.

Thanks again!
