I was just wondering about the relative contributions of volunteers to different projects and I accumulated the information present on the site into one sheet, available here: https://goo.gl/LGEKXh
It is evident that Mapping Cancer Markers has higher priority than other projects. I for one am not aware of how these priorities are decided, and would like to know. Please excuse me if this information is already public, but I couldn't find it. |

...It is evident that Mapping Cancer Markers has higher priority than other projects. I for one am not aware of how these priorities are decided, and would like to know... Why folks choose specific projects is normally a personal decision. Lots of folks crunch all of the projects. Others may not have machines that can handle a specific project's technical requirements. For some, it's a very personal connection. We have a large number of folks here that are cancer survivors themselves and/or have lost someone dear to cancer. The cancer projects have historically drawn a greater focus. When there's not one active, it not uncommon to see folks asking when the next one will start. |
