There was a Beta recently, considering the problems with a range of WUs. These problems have been fixed in this new application version I suspect.

For Windows 64 bit users - just to point out that if you click the Download button on the World Community Grid page you get version 7.2.47 of the BOINC software.
----------------------------------------If you go to the BOINC Manager then click through to the BOINC Home Page and download from there, you get version 7.6.22, which is a more recent release, although it was last updated on 16th Jan 2016. Don't know what the relevance to this thread is, to point out that the one of WCG is of IBM *vetted* open source code, which the Berkeley version is *not*. 7.2.47 is what gets rolled out to WCG partners for this reason [corporations, schools, colleges, organizations].
Maybe a Help article could be created by admin to explain this in brief (don't recollect there to be one). |

If you go to the BOINC Manager then click through to the BOINC Home Page and download from there, you get version 7.6.22, which is a more recent release, although it was last updated on 16th Jan 2016. you got it wrong...v7.36 is a science app for crunching MCM! it runs withing BOINC manager... & BOINC manager is v7.2.47 for WCG version with some neat security features... while normal BOINC doesn't have them in more recent versions, like last one v7.6.22!  |
