We have already reached out to several of our research partners, who either work in related areas, or who are affiliated with organizations which may be involved in Zika research, to see if there is a need for World Community Grid's vast computational resources. Those conversations are ongoing. As SekeRob mentions, Zika is now a serious global health threat and we're very interested in helping out in any way possible. Interesting :) Thanks! (looking forward to new projects by the way :D) ![]() - AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W - AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W - AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

http://news.wisc.edu/uw-madison-researchers-begin-work-on-zika-virus/ They already run their own grid compute system but who knows *shrug* |

Hot off the press, a twist, in Argentina they were adding an insecticide, pyriproxifen, to the drinking-water to kill mosquito larvae in drinkwater storages since about 18 months. Non of the 3200 pregnant women in Colombia being monitored show signs in the foetus, no use of pyriproxifen, whereas in Brazil where many cases were found, they do.

There was news that in labs they'd seen zika attacking the laminated cortex [tree bark] cells of the brain and in the New England journal of medicine there's an article about zika doing much more http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa1602412
