Hi,
I've been crunching projects for years, and I can only read the abstract of the research project papers being published about the projects we're crunching for. If I try to read the full text, it's asking me to pay, which makes me wonder why do we need to pay just to read the paper? Is there something that I'm missing? Please advise. |

Could you, please, specify what you are talking about?

Could you, please, specify what you are talking about? Thank you in advance, b. I have also run into this problem, but mostly the abstract of the article tells me just enough to stretch my intelligence. The few articles I have been able to read were mostly technical and beyond my understanding. There are quite a number of scientific journals which have paywalls, meaning you have to pay read the entire article. Some of us, myself included, are lucky enough to have excellent libraries which stock some of these journals, so I could read the article in the journal itself. Once in a while, with enough poking about the internet, I have been able to find various papers from a secondary source. I understand why the paywalls exist, but I would urge the authors of papers which stemmed from research which was done with WCG (volunteer)resources to at least make the layman's version of the article available on WCG via their research updates, as I think this would be in the spirit of making the results of the research public. Cheers Edited for clarity

Please advise. if you're relevant guy in a field - a university or company can give you their access to the research papers! if you're not, find somebody near you, that has access to that journal entry...& ask them for papers... ![]() |
