Now that at my home there are two almost identical intel boards (DG33FB & DP35DP) with two identical X3360 processors...a comparison of estimated time of WU is 20-30% slower on LINUX...why is that?
----------------------------------------to give numbers: - estimated run time on Ubuntu is 5h min +/- 5min - estimated run time on Win10 is 3h 50min min /- 5min why?! please tech & scientists respond ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Dec 14, 2015 6:31:51 PM] |

Interesting question. I have no answer as to why but I wonder what the actual run times were if you have it.

Thanks the same name of the devices are written on device list...so you can check them out about MCM progress... ![]() EDIT: DP35DP DG33FB techs, admins, scientists...what's wrong with this discrepancy in Linux & W10?! ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Jan 15, 2016 7:19:22 AM] |

Interesting comparison. While I have no clue about the time discrepancy between Windows and Linux, I do see you are getting a number of errors on both. This project has been as stable as can be for me. If I see one error in a month it would be unusual. Do you have any idea why these may be occurring ? Just curious.

Cheers doing some SETi@home BETA on GPUs, as no GPU are available in v8 of SETi@home...so some might get postponed until being too late...so all errors are in Aborted status with no CPU time on them! recently most of my rigs crunch in "high priority"...don't know why?! ![]() |

You might want to lower your cache just a bit to avoid the "Too Late" problem. Cheers

I see variations from 3 1/2 to 8 hours on two identical i7-3770 machines running Win7 64-bit. I would average your results for a longer time before reaching conclusions.
