Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer Project Update - November 2015

Got 3 question though:
- should we have a GPU project again for HFCC2 like in HFCC?
- what are the minimal requirements for GPU crunching in HFCC2? those should be known by now, 'cause the coding & selection of OpenCL or CUDA version should be made in advance...& hints up might give us some time to purchase some cards in advance...
- we had some issues about allocation of time used for crunching HFCC before, by only CPU time is allocated to advancement of project...as it's possible to list CPU & GPU time, like here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/workunit.php?wuid=1985476231 ...so can we please have a run time for HFCC2 project in GPU crunching to be "run time = CPU + GPU time"?

thank you in advance!

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer Project Update - November 2015

HFCC never was a GPU project.
The only GPU project in wcg was HCC ;)

Have anyone seen any indication when the project is going to start?
Really motivated to get my cores to eat those WUs!

Re: Help Fight Childhood Cancer Project Update - November 2015

The earliest indication you'll get is a 'New Project' Beta test, and then it could still be a different 'New' project. That is WCG's approach, most always. Sometimes the scientists give/slip information, but here's hoping, not expecting.

You're right Rob. I was only hoping as I'm really eager on this one.
I'll keep em hot on other work in the mean time.

I'd still like to see if there techs & scientist would, after BETAs of course, list the system requirements for the that project starts...so they can give some people "heads up"!
