WCG USB Linux "stick" clusters

I want to know who has a complete, headless, 4 core or better,
USB Linux computer stick?

If the industry isn't there yet, what's the closest to that "ideal"?

4-24 port USB hubs are available.

A new USB standard will, Soon, be supplying power through
new USB connectors using separate power and data pins.

So, all one should have to do is get a shoebox full of said
USB Linux computer sticks, some 24 port USB hubs,
and have a very compact, energy efficient, affordable,
WCG USB Linux "stick" cluster
as is now done
with Linux "blade" servers.

Re: WCG USB Linux "stick" clusters

until it arrives u can always use:
- multi HDMI port
- with HDMI compute sticks
so it's a 0,5W (5V * 100mA) per HDMI port...but compute stick will not work without additional 2W charger! wink

Lenovo: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/63016/20150...stick-turns-screen-pc.htm
intel: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/compute-stick/intel-compute-stick.html

head 2 head: http://www.crn.com/slide-shows/components-per...s-intel-compute-stick.htm

HDMI stick would give u around 1,33GFLOPs per unit...so around 0,33GFLOPs per core (yes, it has 4 cores)...though, using about 1W per core is very efficient!
laptops use 60-90W...& desktops use about 100-150W, without GPUs...

so it is efficient...but it costs $129 or $150 per device!
d point is - what is ur return of investment?!
wink

Depends on the laptop. My A8-4500M uses 38 watts at 100% CPU load.

yeah, but that's slower than intel counterpart:

& much more slower than desktop/server versions! wink

Everything needed is here: http://plugable.com/products
They are on Amazon, too.

Those folks were the first to tell me about "USB-C".
They have just started introducing USB-C products.

They also have free files for printing hub racks!

Re: WCG USB Linux "stick" clusters

A quick question :
Can you leave the stick in 24/7 mode to run? confused
Without it breaks.

Thanks for the answer.
