ASRock EPC612D4I, a 2011-3 socket mini-ITX server board with 4 memory channels -- €268.
----------------------------------------![]() ASRock EPC612D4I ASRock is willing to provide a custom--undervoltable--UEFI for this server board. This means it's possible to install an 18-core Haswell processor on a board that is of the same size as a Xeon D board, and increase its energy efficiency by lowering the Vcore. ![]() Xeon D, MBD-X10SDV-F-O What are we supposed to do if a capacitor stops working on a two memory channel, €913 Xeon D board? I don't think it's possible to buy a Xeon D replacement board without the processor. With the EPC612D4I server board it's possible to retain the energy efficiency without sacrificing the flexibility. EPC612D4I will also work with future E5-26xx v4, Broadwell processors. The similar ASRock X99E-ITX AC, 2011-3 socket mini-ITX consumer board has only two memory channels, just like the Xeon D board. ![]() ASRock X99E-ITX AC Is there a small correlation between the number of capacitors on a board and the boards power draw? If so, it's interesting to note that the ASRock EPC612D4I board only has 4, the Xeon D, MBD-X10SDV-F-O has 10 and the ASRock X99E-ITX AC has 14. Compare that to the Asus Z10PE-D8 WS, which has over 100. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Sep 1, 2015 5:37:31 AM] |
