I've reset my password and tried to login multiple times, but BOINC agent won't recognize my account. It just keeps saying "Login failed".

Hi,
Is the action you try the adding of World Community Grid as project to the BOINC Manager? You have to enter the member name, same as posting here and your password. The password has to comply to certain rules, no special characters, detail of which is explained on the website log-in manager page. |

Alright, I figured out that the max # of characters in a password is 15, so it just cut off the last characters.

You're the second in a week who stumbles on this. The previous case called this to the attention of techs, no response neither from admin [if they'll be putting it on, to me now, infamous 'the list'
 ]. The devious is, the log-in screen on the website allows entering at least 23 positions and the log-in manager does not warn any character beyond 15 goes into a black hole, so unless you track your steps back, you're bats out of luck. The BM sends the full password you entered, so it fails. [It'd be really hair pulling if the WCG customized client would allow only 15, and you join another BOINC project which does allow more [all, the tested one allowed 32].Anyway, marked the case as [resolved] in the title. |
