I have an WCG account running great. I want to run a friends account on my computer, but when I try to get my friends account to run on my computer it will not connect. I have tried shutting my WCG down but it still won't connect. Help?

If you try adding WCG a second time to the same BOINC client, you would get 'This project is already added'. To add your friend, you have to first remove WCG under your account.

I know people have done it, by installing a second copy of BOINC (though IIRC this requires some registry tweaking) and dedicating certain cores to one installation or the other. Or, you could use a virtual machine but your crunching would be hampered by the overhead.
----------------------------------------What are you to achieve by crunching with two accounts? If you're just trying to help them out with time/credits, the easiest way would be to temporarily detach your account until you've achieved whatever goal you're looking for. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by noderaser at Jun 20, 2015 2:42:46 PM] |
