I'm getting the following message from the server:
Your current settings do not allow tasks from this project. To fix this, you can change Project Preferences on the project's web site. Yet, when I go into My Projects, Participate in All Projects has a check mark as well as all the other checkboxes. I've also checked my device profile (I only have Default) and all of the projects have a check mark there as well. I've let it go several days just to see if it would clear up on its own, but I'm still getting the message. What am I missing? |

It could be the projects, but also what you set in the device profiles... e.g. if you ticked to only allow GPGPU work, then no CPU work can be sent.
----------------------------------------@Technicians: It would be good if the 'My Projects' also had a section to pick if CPU or GPGPU work is allowed. Specifically, some turned this one into -No- "Allow research to run on my CPU?" on their Device Profiles. [Edit 2 times, last edit by Former Member at Jun 1, 2015 1:26:24 PM] |

Ok, I took another look at the device profile and found that "Allow research to run on my CPU?" was set to no. I had tried changing it from Custom to Maximum Output, but doing that did not change that particular setting. You would think that you can't get the maximum output if the CPU is not being used, but I guess some programmer missed that.
Thanks! |

You could think that with Max Output, but in actuality it only is a preset to control how much time and when. The parms adapted with the presets such are discussed here, http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread?thread=17033 where I would concur that the option to control % of processors under the MO profile would be reset to 100, and CPU use is changed to Yes. Then 'custom' can be tweaked to different prefs. That said, the admin noted 'the list', at time of knreed had 'Major overhaul of device profiles' on it. No idea what's fallen off [or we have a situation where the one who did the profile work took the how-to knowledge with him when he left]. |

BTW, regarding the topic, getting CPU work to come again, I've mark it as [RESOLVED]

Here is: Old Warning: "Your current settings do not allow tasks from this project. To fix this, you can change Project Preferences on the project's web site. Suggested: "Your current settings do not allow tasks from this project. To fix this, you need to change your Project Selection and the related computing resource is allowed (CPU and / or GPU)." I'm sure one tech can do this with one hand tied behind her/his back ![]() |

Believe the previous solution is in IBM white shirt lingo a PTF [Think it stood for 'pretended tested fix', or was it 'program temporary fix'... too long ago to remember exactly what those 8 inch floppies had on them, but at least those who got the message know what to look for to adjust ;]
