Re: Boinc Vs. Boinc with Virtualbox?

-With-, is hopes by the BOINC developer that more projects will use a VBox environment with Linux as OS in the box, to simplify development [No more porting to Mac & Windows needed and have homogeneity concerns]. Only CERN is using it though. It's to me a bridge too far for the largest group of volunteers.

You could run BOINC in a VM with Linux as OS in the box and run WCG too in it [don't ask me how]. Even with the extra overhead, the Linux version of FAHV and OET run a lot faster. Know there are a few members who do that routinely, or during beta time specifically.
