I think you are attempting to have your computer do too many things at the same time. That is a lot of projects to be doing at once and I suspect ( although I am not sure) you are attempting to put 10 lbs. of flour in a 5 lb. bag. Someone else who has tried to run all of these projects at once may be able to chime in, but it appears there is a resource allocation conflict someplace. Try cutting back the number of projects you are doing.

Also a couple of your OET1 WU's are overdue, so you may as well abort them.

Hope this helps.

Re: Too many exit(o) zeros

FAQ's [my first post in here] are there to read and apply where possible to fix a problem. Summation: Probable -Overloaded- system (2 lbs in a 1 lbs bag, or keeping a 400 pound gorilla in a birdcage]), set LAIM, set CPU overload backoff percent [While (Non-BOINC) processor usage is less than nn] default 25%, set Activity menu to "Run based on preferences". Additionally, if there are heavy users / screen intense applications such as games, set an exclude_app through the Tools > Computing Preferences > Exclusive applications tab. This pauses the client while that user app is loaded.

OET is no heavier than the light FAHV or any other AD Vina based science we had before (SN2S, HFCC, DSFL). My 8 core is running them concurrent without a sweat.

If the issue occurs again, it means the task was interrupted 100 times on the same checkpoint section [See FAQ!]. Each interruption is printed in the event log "If this happens..." [See FAQ!]. In effect the communication between the core client and the science app was interrupted/blocked for longer than 30 seconds [See FAQ!]. This most often also gives heartbeat warnings [The BOINC client checking if the science app is still alive]. This is standard BOINC wrapper behavior [which is what the science applications are packaged in], build into all applications for BOINC. http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/WrapperApp

Re: Too many exit(o) zeros

SekeRob -- The interrupt issue is pretty-much exposed, for me,
now. Other projects, again, seem able to cope, as did OET's, earlier.

I may just give OET a rest, and continue on, hoping something will change, for the better. This is a very important undertaking, certainly, and I don't want to put it on hold. I'll look into
getting a Sony VAIO up and running (w/Windows Vista).

Cheers, to all of you gentlemen, and thanks for your assistance.

Re: Too many exit(o) zeros

Was there a OET version or parameter change? Not that anyone was made aware of, the uniform practice being for an application change to be first tested in BETA before moving the app into production. WCG announces application changes because for many it requires the setting of 'allow app and remember' for AV and other security apps [That too run on corporate networks, to include that of IBM themselves].

My guess: Something changed in the mix of projects you run [specific combos] LHC/T4T in VM box adding to the trouble source vectors. Since each runs in their own sandbox, hard to see how though. Unless you post a full log where the restarts/resets happen [post link to a dropbox copy of the stdoutdae.txt file], to see what runs along side, no way of telling. If every other science combination runs fine, then exclude OET in the device profile for that host and move on.
