Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

The issue is the export for the hosts table is getting truncated on our end. I am looking into it and hope to have an updated host export soon.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

My missing hosts just reappeared again. Funny, in order to keep statistics consistent, they have now daily, weekly and monthly credit equal to total credit. I wish to have a machine capable to crunch 1,042,728 points per day ;-)

Same thing for me. All active hosts are showing Daily, weekly, monthly all equal total credit.

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

The Host stats export should be corrected. Next time BOINCStats pulls in the data, it'll have the updated information.

Thanks,

Puzzling as before the really big device vaporizing started the export file was 389MB, the days during it was 389MB, and it still is per latest:

[CMP] host.gz 20-Mar-2015 15:34 389M

Don't look now for your devices as they may be gone again, a nice round number now showing of 1540000 hosts instead of 2.41M or so. Still not seeing anything wrong with the export file, or the size... the usual 389MB.

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

Starts to become a permanent fixture of the statistics experience, but the devices are back again, at BS:

Hosts 2,411,785
Active hosts 1,794,068 (74.39%)

Of course the second number has to be taken as with salt on escargot.

Edit: Actually, an interesting piece of info on the resurfacing -per OS- installs at http://boincstats.com/en/stats/15/host/breakdown/os
is this bit

Microsoft Windows 10 144 13,948,466.54 42,020.28 96,864.35 291.81
Microsoft Windows 98 1167 5,293,331.95 87.13 4,535.85 0.07

As in, 144 Windows 10 in a little time have surpassed the Windows 98 historic contribution by almost a factor 3 already. Not many who crunched with W98 before moving to XP which holds the number 2 spot of all time contributors... give it time and Linux will overtake that biggrin

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

More active than we have hosts, according BS:

Active users 68,413 (14.11%)
Hosts 820
Active hosts 202,270 (24.67%)

Sigh

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

Sekerob,

I just looked at this, and I see 820,000 Hosts. I wonder if there is a problem because it happened to be 000 after the comma.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

Could be, given commas are thousand signs at your end, but not at mine. 24.67 percent looks like math being right, but somehow when it bombs, it's often a rounded number. Also logged 1.540,000 i.e. 1,540,000. Something is persistently going off between the export and the import at BS. Often the hosts are not imported, and the previous day data is left, probably no import running, so the timestamps suggest:

http://boincstats.com/en/stats/15/host/breakdown/os
http://boincstats.com/stats/project_graph.php?pr=wcg

At any rate, these were the numbers the day before:

Users 484,767
Active users 68,367 (14.10%)
Hosts 2,411,785
Active hosts 1,794,052 (74.39%)
Teams 23,837
Active teams 7,286 (30.57%)

They're kind of right, though I have a small diff as when adding up the OS page, get 2398219 BOINC installs at WCG, but the summary page showing 2411785 [last it ran seemingly proper]. Not tallied the actual host.gz file to confirm who's wrong.

Not promoting good standing at the 3rd party stats sites, even if it's not your exports' fault, it is [house policy] ;>)

Maybe there's some Babylonian involved on what is meant with above 'truncated', but certainly it took me last time 3 attempts before the 390MB compressed [2.6GB decompressed host file] was downloaded i.e. it took near 4 hours to get a full copy [have no software on Windows to resume where it broke off]. Maybe this is part of the BOINCStats side problem, only downloading in a particular window and if crashing, not trying again until the next day. At any rate, the summary totals were buggered on 3 of the last 5 days.
