Re: Missing Machines from BOINC

On the summary page it says for hosts updates:

2015-03-17 17:35:25 GMT (18:12:01 old)

If the routine of ones per 24 hours, sometime this evening, 23:59 maybe a new run would happen... don't know. He posted something about operating cost few days ago, mentioning the very one time per day: http://boincstats.com/en/forum/1/8369,1#135315

Re: Missing Machines from BOINC

The issue is not how often the stats are updates, once per day is fine with me. It is that most of my hosts are missing and do not display anymore on the hosts tab

Re: Missing Machines from BOINC

Yes, because something went SNAFU (System normal all frequently updated), except a large part of the hosts.gz file was seemingly not imported... no import, no record, no stats. Maybe something timed out or the disk is chock full, considering the compressed file is already 389MB, see http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/boinc/stats/. That takes a bunch of space in decompressed state.

Latest BS WCG summary scrape shows

2015-03-17 17:35:25 GMT (23:02:02 old)

Maybe in another 2 hours things return to at least show the lost devices again [and then be shown with the suspected ~1.3M active devices instead of the proper 250K.]

Frequency, the post by Willy highlighted that some want it more frequent, butt cost is prohibitive. Default BOINC projects export their data 4x a day [last for hosts was 12:36 UTC and next will be around 18:36], it then being up to the statistics sites to choose how often they want to pull the data [4xday is 1.6GB :O]. During the 10 year anniversary challenge WCG even exported every hour so the SETI team could give very frequent competition progress refreshes.

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

Well, something is borged there as when doing a new scrape over at BS...

Hosts 0
Active hosts 0 (0.00%)

NB: The OP title should say 'BOINCStats' where BOINC itself is fine as it gets the updated credits from WCG directly each time there's a host connect to the servers.

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

The installed hosts now dropped from 1.2 million to 0.6M, another slash in half and only 2213 active hosts left... not looking good, at BS.

Though this has been ongoing now for several days, Nobody is commenting at their forums in either the BOINCStats or BAM sections.

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

It looks like I now have no active servers and no points for any servers, but my daily total points seems correct. This also seems to only be a boincstats/wcc problem, as my active server list looks correct on other projects.

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

My missing hosts just reappeared again. Funny, in order to keep statistics consistent, they have now daily, weekly and monthly credit equal to total credit. I wish to have a machine capable to crunch 1,042,728 points per day ;-)

Re: Missing Machines from BOINCStats

Yes, this 'see me, see me not' blows-up the active stats completely at BOINCStats. On the WCG summary page you'll now see astounding numbers [bogus of course], and to right itself will take 30-60 days.

Edit: for example

Hosts 2,406,245
Active hosts 1,788,533 (74.33%)

WCG Rulez biggrin
